Burundi University of Technology (BUT)

A Strategic Initiative for IT Excellence and Economic Transformation

The Burundi University of Technology (BUT) is a flagship project of Ubuntu Oasis Investments (UOI), established to support Burundi’s digital transformation agenda and contribute to the development of a knowledge-based economy.

As Burundi continues to modernize public services, strengthen digital infrastructure, and expand economic opportunities through technology, the demand for highly skilled professionals in computer sciences and related fields continues to grow. The Burundi University of Technology was conceived as a response to this need, offering practical, innovation-driven education that bridges the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

Unlike traditional programs that focus primarily on theoretical instruction, BUT is designed to provide students with hands-on experience, advanced technological competencies, and exposure to real-world challenges. Through modern laboratories, research facilities, and industry partnerships, the institution aims to prepare a new generation of professionals capable of driving innovation and supporting national development.
